Chapter 302: You’re Amazing

Thinking the little one wouldn’t believe him, he added, “I learn things very quickly.”

Seeing his completely serious expression, Yan Xiaosi handed him a few silver needles and reminded him, “Be careful, don’t insert them in the wrong places.”

Those military doctors weren’t very accurate with their needle placement, which was why Murong Qinjian wouldn’t let them help.

Long Yu said, “Just insert them at the Shenmen, Sanyinjiao, and Anmian acupoints, right?”

“Mm.”

Yan Xiaosi nodded. Just then, another wounded soldier’s poison flared up, and he writhed in agony on his bed, banging his head against the ground.

After she nodded, she gave Long Yu a meaningful look.

Long Yu immediately walked over, reached out to lift the screaming wounded soldier from the ground with one hand, then his right hand flashed with three silver needles. In just a few blinks, those three needles were inserted into the soldier’s Shenmen, Sanyinjiao, and Anmian acupoints.

His Highness the War King released his grip, and the soldier who had been screaming in agony suddenly went limp and collapsed back onto the bed.

This entire sequence of movements was performed by His Highness with fluid grace. Yan Xiaosi watched in stunned amazement.

This man was truly incredible. Not studying medicine was truly a loss for the medical field.

Seeing Yan Xiaosi’s exaggerated expression, Long Yu raised his eyebrows proudly.

“Little one, what do you think of my technique?”

Yan Xiaosi gave him a thumbs up and praised sincerely, “You’re amazing.”

“Hm?”

“You’re incredible.”

His Highness the War King understood this time and raised an eyebrow to ask, “Can I stay and help now?”

Yan Xiaosi had been administering acupuncture to these wounded soldiers until her hands and feet were weak. She had long wanted to rest for a moment. With someone volunteering to help, she was naturally happy to oblige.

Yawning, she walked to Long Yu’s side, patted his shoulder, and handed over all the silver needles in her hands.

“Your Highness, I’m leaving the rest to you. I’m really too sleepy. I’ll go back and sleep for a bit first.”

Long Yu took the silver needles and watched as she left him behind, yawning as she walked out of the wounded soldiers’ tent. He felt rather helpless, then indulgently curved the corners of his mouth.

What a little rascal, leaving him here while she went back to sleep soundly.

Yan Xiaosi dragged her weary body back to the commander’s tent, yawning all the way. She kicked off her shoes, collapsed onto His Highness’s large bed, and fell asleep directly without even removing her outer clothes.

Her body fell asleep as soon as it touched the bed. She had originally planned to sleep for just one hour, then return to relieve His Highness so he could rest. But when she woke up, it was already the next morning.

“Wake up, hurry and get up to wash your face and eat breakfast.”

A gentle, pleasant voice reached her. Following the sound, she saw the handsome and distinguished His Highness sitting at the table, smiling at her slightly.

On the table were steaming hot porridge, warm corn buns, and hot egg pancakes.

Lying in bed, she caught the aroma of the egg pancakes and couldn’t help swallowing.

After being busy half the night, with excessive physical exertion and wounds on her body, she was now so hungry her front was sticking to her back.

She threw off the covers, patted her wrinkled clothes, put on her shoes, and was about to go out.

His Highness glanced at her and suddenly rose from the table.

“Just stay here. I’ll get you water to wash your face.”

Yan Xiaosi was putting on her shoes when she heard this. She looked at His Highness with pleasant surprise as he turned and walked outside.

Soon, Long Yi and others saw their master carrying a basin of warm water, looking refreshed and smiling as he returned to the tent. Several of them twitched at the corners of their mouths.

After their master went inside, Long San quietly asked, “Boss, that person who just went in was our master, right?”

Long Yi nodded, “You didn’t see wrong.”

Long San had a look as if he’d seen a ghost, “Master carried water for Young Master Yan, right?”

Long Yi nodded, “It should be.”

“Master seems to really enjoy the process of serving Young Master Yan.”

Long Yi remained silent.

“Long San, these aren’t matters we should concern ourselves with. Our duty is to protect Master’s safety.”

Long San belatedly realized he had said something wrong and slapped himself on the mouth.

Yan Xiaosi finished tidying herself and was arranging the bedding when His Highness brought the hot water to the bedside.

“I can do it myself.”

Hearing footsteps, she turned and reached out to take the basin.

Long Yu avoided her hands, placed the basin on the footstool in front of the bed, then took Yan Xiaosi’s face cloth, wrung it out in the water, and handed it to her, “Go ahead and wash.”

Yan Xiaosi took the cloth and hastily wiped her face a few times.

“Long Yu, I’m not used to you treating me like this.”

Seeing that she had washed her face, Long Yu reached out to take the cloth from her hands.

“You’ll get used to it with time.”

Yan Xiaosi wasn’t as strong as him. She watched as he threw the cloth into the water, wrung it out, then carried the wash water outside to dump it.

Though she wasn’t used to it, it felt quite nice in her heart.

After breakfast, Yan Xiaosi’s spirits improved considerably. She went to check on the tent housing the wounded soldiers, with His Highness following along. They could also ask Murong Qinjian if he had figured out what those black bats were.

The several large tents housing the wounded soldiers were somewhat quieter than the previous night. The reason for this quiet was that the bat poison in those soldiers had worsened. Each lay on his bed with a darkened face and purplish-black lips, lacking the strength to wail.

When Yan Xiaosi walked in and saw this, she was startled.

What kind of demonic bats were these, with such powerful toxicity?

Long Yu’s expression also looked grim. The two exchanged glances, and seeing that Murong Qinjian wasn’t there, they hurried to Murong Qinjian’s tent to discuss countermeasures.

Murong Qinjian had been busy from last night until dawn and had just lain down for a moment when Long Yu dragged him from his bed. His face was full of resentment.

“Long Yu, are you trying to kill me? Then just take my life now.”

He stretched his neck toward Long Yu.

Long Yu released his collar and looked down at him from above, “Murong, you little wretch, what’s the background of those poisonous bats? Have you figured it out?”

Murong Qinjian answered listlessly, “With you around, how could I sleep if I hadn’t figured it out? The creatures that bit those soldiers weren’t ordinary poisonous bats, but Black Wing Poison Bats from Rongdi territory. These bats are extremely toxic. If the antidote isn’t administered within three days, even the immortals couldn’t save them.”

Yan Xiaosi was someone skilled in both medicine and poison, but this was the first time she’d heard of Black Wing Poison Bats.

“What medicinal materials can neutralize the poison of these Black Wing Poison Bats?”

If there was no antidote, those hundreds of soldiers bitten by the Black Wing Poison Bats would be beyond saving.

Murong Qinjian appeared calm and unhurried, allowing Yan Xiaosi and Long Yu to breathe a slight sigh of relief.

Sure enough, the next second they heard Murong Qinjian say, “The medicinal material to neutralize the Black Wing Poison Bat toxin can be found on Fourth Sister Peak of Four Sisters Mountain.”

Yan Xiaosi’s eyes lit up.

She had long wanted to visit Four Sisters Peak and Third Sister Peak of Four Sisters Mountain, but Brother Dazhuang had said that Four Sisters Peak and Third Sister Peak had many fierce beasts, and with her insufficient abilities, she had never gone.

“What medicinal material?”

“Six-leaf lotus.”

Yan Xiaosi knew about six-leaf lotus. It wasn’t actually a lotus flower, but rather a type of grass with six leaves, somewhat similar in form to four-leaf clover. It wasn’t any precious medicinal material, but she had explored all of Big Sister Peak of Four Sisters Mountain and had never seen this grass. Perhaps it only existed on Fourth Sister Peak.
